We purchased this lamp for our living room. The design and use of wood lends itself well to the end table where it now sits. The downside is that the light socket is made of such thin aluminum that I could squeeze it together with two fingers if I wanted. Further, the switch arm is so thin we are afraid it is going to snap off every time we turn the light on or off. The rest of the lamp is very solid but the alignment between the wood and the metal bar in the center is slightly off. We still would purchase the lamp but for $100 less due to the lower than expected overall quality.

I really do like the style. That said, now I understand why no Lamps Plus store had any NOVA lamps to look at. The quality if really questionable for the price. If you saw this lamp in a store, I doubt you would buy it unless the price was much lower. Also, I looked up this company and thought I was buying from a local-ish artisan company. My mistake. The lamp was made in China. As an example of the quality--the upper metal embellishment is so poorly fitted that you can actually cut yourself on the sharp edge. It doesn't even line up with the top of the circle.
