This lamp is unique and very pretty. It can go well with either a traditional or slightly modern decor. There are three settings: night light only, main light only, or both. The night light is just that -- it provides a soft hue of light (and looks very pretty when lit). In the picture, the dark bronze portions of the shade look like metal, however I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they, too, are stained glass. I highly recommend this lamp. It is truly beautiful! My Mom liked mine so much that I'm getting her one for Christmas.
