I was so excited when this lamp was finally assembled last weekend. It was beautiful because it looked like a palm tree with hanging branches and the lamp shades are adorable plus having 5 light bulbs really gave my dining room the jolt of light that it needed. However, after a couple of hours, this lamp came crashing down. I was horrified because I saw sparks fly and it was a close call for me because I usually sit right in the area where the lamp fell to work on my computer. Thankfully my table arrangements broke the fall and nothing was damaged. I am returning this item now even though I am really sad that I won't have this beautiful lamp in my dining room, but I want to be sure that this incident doesn't happen again, it could be very dangerous. I am very happy with Amazon's response afte I reported this incident, so the only reason why I have given this lamp a 3 star is the inherent flaw in the design that could be dangerous if it topples on top of people.

I really like this lamp. It was easy to put together and is very sturdy. In real life it looks great, much better than the picture and provides ample light. It is also much taller than I thought but in my case it is a good thing. Just make sure your ceiling is tall enough.
The only problem is in the packaging. This lamp ships inside a huge Styrofoam box which cannot be recycled and does not fit in any garbage can.
