When i received this lamp, it was missing all the parts to the lamp and i couldn't assemble it...
so i wanted to them to just send me the missing parts.
instead they made me repack this 190lb lamp and send it back to them

I had searched for one of these on various sites (ranging in price from $300s to $3500!) with the attempt of copying one my sister has--this one turned out even better than the one i was copying. It's sturdy (so much so that i had to leave the marble base outside in the packaging box until my husband got home to carry it into the house for me!), functional, and stylish. Easy to assemble. One of my favorite "extras" that i didn't expect is the foot-pedal power switch that you can hide with the cord behind furniture.

I love this lamp. I'm in a loft with 12' ceilings and there was no way to suspend a new light for the dining room table. The top of the arch for this lamp I thought was going to be around 6' so that access to the back seat of the table would be only from one side. To my surprise, the top of the arch on this lamp is 8' It could be shortened a bit but I like it taller as it lifts the lamp at a nice height above the dining table which is a taller pub height table. The lamp shroud is adjustable so that it can still sit squarely above the table.
The base is very heavy and has no problem supporting the overhang and weight. The collet clamps at the joints match my IKEA living room lights. The only reason I removed one star is that the base came with a chip on the top rim. I think someone else complained about that so either I got theirs or the manufacturer has a problem with that. Honestly, it isn't worth sending it back for it. I'm still VERY happy with this lamp.
